What this service is
Jharis is a shop-through-charity platform. When you make a valid purchase at a partner merchant via the Jharis website or Chrome extension, the merchant pays Jharis an affiliate commission, and Jharis donates a percentage of the purchase total to Kiva microloans on a monthly basis.
No surcharge, no guarantee of donation amount
Jharis does not change the price you pay at any merchant. The donation percentage shown for each merchant is the current published rate and may change at any time. A donation is made only on a "valid purchase" — one that the affiliate network confirms as completed and not refunded.
Not financial or charitable advice
Nothing on Jharis is investment, financial, or legal advice. Microloans on Kiva are not investments and are not made by you personally — Jharis pools its affiliate commissions and makes the donation on behalf of the platform.
No affiliation with Kiva or merchants
Jharis is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Kiva Microfunds or by any merchant listed on the site. References to Kiva, field partners, borrowers, and merchant names and logos are descriptive only.
Accuracy of the loan ledger
The loan ledger is rebuilt from a Kiva export and rendered as-is. While we take care to display it accurately, there may be discrepancies. For the source of truth, log into kiva.org.
